The Drug Information Center provides any medicine consulting relevant information either written or verbally regarding the safe and rational use of drug products, educating patients, students, residents, and other healthcare practitioners.
The department of pharmacy issues pharmacy newsletter quarterly for providing compact and practical drug information to healthcare practitioners.
Chemotherapy
Highly cytotoxic drugs for chemotherapy are prepared in a Class 10,000 clean room and dispensed under secure protections about 50 times per year.
Therapeutic Drug Monitor(TDM)
TDM is a valuable procedure in therapeutics, since it minimizes the effects of individual pharmacokinetic variability and so improves the chances of achieving optimal therapeutic results.
Adverse Drug Reaction(ADR)
The ADR work team includes physicians, pharmacists and nurses to review and evaluate ADR reports submitted to the Northern Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting Center in the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Drug Utilization Evaluation(DUE)
The DUE unit reviews patients' medication data to screen for and identify potential and actual adverse drug reactions, therapeutic appropriateness, incorrect drug dose or duration, drug allergy interaction, clinical abuse and the monitoring of physicians prescribing activities.
