 Welcome to the Derpartment of Family Medicine's Web site at Taoyuan Vererans Hospital. Our Department established in 1996 and expanded to provide the hospice palliative ward since 2000. During this period, the department has gradually grown in terms of facilities and the quality of service provided has also improved to meet international standards. Our mission has always been and continues to be that of providing the community people a healthy and happy life. We have always been patient-oriented, putting the needs of our patients as our top concerns.
The major medical services of Family Medicine Department include outpatient clinic , hospice palliative medicine, helath examination cencer, preventive medicine affairs, smoking cessation services, community medical services, geriatric medicine, and home care services. Family medicine differs from other primary care specialies by providing continuous, comprehensive, cooperative, and family centered health care. The residency training program and the Post-graduate Primary Care Training Program includes internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, palliative medicine, and community medicine branches with emphases laid on physician-patient relationship, bio-psycho-social model holistic care, community-oriented-primary care, and integrated delivery system. |
By organizing the Community Center we involve the community for health development and educational activities. Based on community, we emphasize both protective health care and medical service to promote health of our community. Prevention is better than cure. We are conducting many health courses: weight control, diabetic shared care program, smoking cessasion... etc, to avoid diseases and illness from out community. To coordinate with the policy of the goverment, we set up the community medical care groups"and"community public hygiene groups". We also provide 24 hour call center service for our members. To be the best community medical center is out vision.
