Social Works in Mental Health
The social workers in the field of mental health are one of the medical team members that caring the psycho-social territory of mental patients. We act important roles that bridging the patients, their families, hospitals and communities. Assisting the patients and their families to face those psycho-social problems that caused by mental diseases. The cores of our works are enhancing the supporting systems between the patients and families, fascinating the adaptation of patients' social activities and encouraging them back to the community.

Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy is the use of purposeful activity with individuals who are limited by physical illness, psychosocial dysfunction, developmental or learning disabilities, and the aging in order to maximize independence, prevent disability, and maintain health. Recently, due to an increasingly older population and higher incidences of chronic physical and mental disorders, occupational therapists provide services based on the abovementioned belief to meet the needs of the society.
The occupational therapy in Tao-yuan veterans hospital was built up in 1998. We provide all kinds of therapies for psychiatric patients, developmental or learning disability children in school, and long-term care patients. Beside, we have modern equipments and up-to-date teaching and research for educating excellent occupational therapists.
Clinical Psycholoigy
The Clinical Psychology service has continued to provide inpatient and outpatient services to psychiatric care. Clinical psychologists assist patients and their family members deal with a range of difficult issues associated a psychiatric diagnosis. Common reasons for referral to the psychology service include dealing with depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, anger, fear, body image, loss and grief.
Assessment & Psychotherapy:
Clinical psychologist is one of psychiatric team members. Base on expertise, we provide direct services including psychological assessment and psychotherapy.
Clinical supervise:
Clinical psychologist supervise graduate interns of clinical psychology institute and other new member of clinical clinical psychologist. Sometimes, we play a role as consultant of other new member of the team.
Research:
"Scientist-practioner" model is emphasized in the field of clinical psychology for decades. It means becoming a scientist prior to a practioner, and research is the base of services. We keep on the studies for various psychiatric disorders.
Administration:
As a member of psychiatric team, clinical psychologist help the administration in the hospital.
