The Pulmonary Division of the Department of Medicine provides comprehensive clinical care for pulmonary problems in both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Clinical services of physicians include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis (TB), acute lung injury (ALI), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), nosocomial pneumonia, and respiratory and critical care.
Our team members include 2 pulmonary specialists and 3 respiratory therapists. The special tests and procedures available include:
- bronchoscopy
- sputum induction
- pulmonary function testing
- chest sonogram, as well as diagnostic thoracocentesis, pleural biopsy, drainage of pleural effusion, and lung aspiration/biopsy
- noninvasive and invasive mechanical ventilatory support
