Internal Medicine

Introduction

Department of Internal Medicine was established in early 1994 and was qualified as local teaching hospital in 2001. At present, we are capable of training two resident doctors every year. Since 2002, we are approved to be a qualified hospital of Diabetes Care Network by Taoyuan Health Bureau.

Presently, our department consists of subspecialties which include Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Chest Medicine, and Endocrine and Metabolism and infectious medicine. We provide both inpatient and outpatient health care, as well as wards for acute care, intensive care, and hemodialysis.

Laboratory examination

In addition to outpatient services, we provide a multitude of professional examinations, tests, and treatment, including, but not restricted by, electrocardiogram, treadmill exercise test, 24-hour Holter monitor and analysis, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, gastroenterologic endoscopic examination and treatment,colonoscopy, abdominal sonography, pulmonary function test, chest sonography, bronchoscopy, electrocephalogram, nerve conduction study,carotid Doppler and transcranial Doppler hemodialysis, thyroid sonography with aspiration biopsy.

Current complement

Medicine Department: one chief, 12 attending physicians, two residents.
Provides medicine clinical treatment for Veterans and their family General public National health service patient

Our service including

• Epidemic or infective disease prevention or treatment.
  
• Clinical treatment for cardiology, gastroenterology, chest, metabolism, endocrinology & metabolism, nephrology, hemodialysis and neurology.
  
• Besides, we offer 24-hrs service for patients in the medical emergent care at Emergency Room department.
