Food Service

  • June 01, 2001: Started to use Windows System.
  • February 01, 2001: Leasing out inpatients regular diet, therapeutic diet, tube feeding diet, employees' cafeteria.
  • November 01, 2000: Psychiatry ward launched its service.
  • June 07, 2000: Hospice and palliative care unit launched its service.
  • March 20, 2000: Food service operation computerized.
  • September 01, 1999: Leasing out inpatients and employees' cafeterias to the contractor who should employ one certified dietitian.
  • July 01, 1999: Nutrition and Food Service are in charge of dietary operation for inpatients and outpatients of veterans patients.
  • June 01, 1999: Nutrition and Food Service established, with a director appointed, two dietitians transferred from secretariat.
  • June 01, 1998: Leasing out inpatient and employees' cafeterias.
  • June 01, 1996: Leasing out employees' cafeteria.

Clinical Dietetics

  • August 11, 2000: Establish diabetes medical network clinic which is cooperated by Endocrine Metabolism, Family Medicine, Nutrition and Food Service, Nursing and Psychiatric. (Monday to Friday morning.)
  • September 01, 1999: Group teaching twice a month.
  • November 01, 2000: Psychiatry ward launched its service.July 01, 1998: Recruit college interns every summer vacation, lasting 1 to 2 months, accommodation and clinical trainings provided.
  • June 01, 1998: Dietetic consultation clinic. (Thursday and Friday morning.)

Food and Beverage Service to patients

  • Patient diet design and preparation: Normal diet, Therapeutic diet, Tube Feeding etc.
  • Quality and quantity control over meal service.
  • Assignment systemization and computerization.

  • Food and costs control
  • Human resources development
  • Community service promotion

Clinical Dietetics Service

  • Clinical dietetic consultation and diabetes medical network service.
  • Dietetic assessment, planning, consultation and follow-up for inpatient.
  • Group teaching: two group teaching sessions conducted monthly in the clinical department.
  • Patient and family discussion meeting: arranged regularly, cooperated by doctors, hospital nurses, dietitians and social workers

Community Dietetics Service

  • Community medical service: medical team is composed of doctors, hospital nurses, medical technicians, dietitians and social workers. Provide medical service for nearby communities regularly.
  • Community nutrition clinic: invite community members to attend dietetic speech.

Community Dietetics Service

Food is very important to the Chinese people. Diet is closely intertwined with daily life, health, and well-being.

The dietitian possesses professional skills. Dietitian laws regulate capable dietitians and establishments. Dietitians must pass national examinations in order to be certified as dietitians.

Dietitians job includes: dietetic consultation, disease care, nutritional education, food control and management. Dietitian is a counselor, therapist, nutrition educator and also a manager.
