Preface

Taoyuan Veterans Hospital's PicVeterans' Affairs Commission, Executive Yuan has special plans to establish Taoyuan Veterans' Hospital in Mt. Hutou, Taoyuan City, in order to balance medical resources, and reinforce medical services for a great deal of Veterans, the dependents of Veterans and the public in the large Taoyuan District, as well as relieve the strain on the outpatient clinic in Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Checked and ratified by the Executive Yuan, Taoyuan Veterans' Hospital had its groundbreaking ceremony on June 30 th 1991. It was finished on June 30 th 1994, and formally launched on October 29 th of the same year.

Taoyuan Veterans Hospital's PicThe hospital was originally named the "Regional Hospital:", but was assessed and awarded the title of Local Teaching Hospital by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan in 1996, because of its good management and its efforts to "upgrade medical quality and strengthen the service community".

Through constant efforts, the hospital absorbed professional talent, added medical equipment, intensified administration efficiency and upgraded medical quality, and so in 1998 it was designated a "Would-be Regional Teaching Hospital", and in 2001 it was then designated a "Regional Teaching Hospital". In time it was planned to be a "Diplomate Training Hospital" with Internal Medicine, Surgical, Pediatrics, Family Medicine Division, etc. by relevant national medical associations.
